color alchemy

This autumn I was finally able to realize my interest in fiber dying- this time in the form of some lovely organic hemp and cotton jersey, and some thrift clothing pieces. I used so-called low-impact fiber reactive dyes, and the results were wonderous. It was like magic, fiber alchemy! Certainly a new creative passion of mine, dying sustainable and natural fabrics as well as thrifted clothing is going to be integral with my work from now on. I have yet to construct any new designs~ look for them deeper into the winter, December is going to be a time to focus on creating for my family and loved ones.

I find it so facinating how the colors and fabric take on an organic expression of their own, one piece alone so varied; beautiful. I was intimidated by the prospect of dying fabric and textiles in the wintertime, thankfully many helpful etsians assured me that in the winter, the bath tub is your friend!

the wheel turns...

A full turn of the wheel, and I return! My intentions this time around are to manage my blogs on a regular basis... yes, blogs. I have addded another to reflect more on my family's path. "two suns" is where you can find us!

The Language of Creation

I am on a path navigating the language of creation, be it the creation of humans, living beings, or the creative aspect that gives birth to existence. I am curious as to what the drive and significance of creation means to our communion with one another, nature, and the mysterious.
